The Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) Capabilities and Technologies (C&T) group leads interdisciplinary applied Research and Development (R&D) for all of IIS. R&D ranges from concept development, trade studies and rapid prototyping for customized engineering products and services. We develop solutions to solve customer needs as well as plan future capabilities and technology roadmaps. The Advanced Concepts and Technology (ACT) group is a component of C&T that is a center for accelerating innovation and technology advancement. IIS Engineering is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Capability Center Lead. The Capability Center Lead is responsible to C&T Leadership for developing and evolving the IIS Modeling & Simulation strategy and for accomplishing the C&T Modeling and Simulation goals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: · Establishing and supporting achievement of the vision for the IIS Engineering organization as it relates to Modeling & Simulation. · Establishing and maintaining the IIS Engineering Modeling & Simulation Environments. · Communicating across Raytheon Business Units, IIS Mission Areas and Research & Development projects to ensure alignment of Modeling & Simulation capabilities to enable maximum reuse of capabilities · Teaming with ACT and the Mission Areas to interface with customers · Providing support to strategic planning, customer identification, and market development · Creating and maintaining the IIS Modeling & Simulation Technology Roadmap · Participating in the annual Internal Research & Development planning cycle · Ov erseeing the management of Modeling & Simulation Internal Research & Development activities to ensure performance to cost, schedule, and quality requirements and managing Modeling & Simulation engineering budgets assisting in management of the engineering budget, including the overhead and management allocation budgets · Providing Modeling & Simulation inputs to Mission Area and ACT pursuit teams and to related technology insertion plans. · Providing weekly written status, quarterly presentations at the Engineering Technology Review meetings and providing additional inputs as requested by C&T Leadership. . Required Skills: 12 + years of Modeling & Simulation experience, including complex system of systems architectures. Ability to translate system-level CONOPS, functional analysis and requirements into models and simulations Ability to evaluate system performance/utility/capacity for various scenarios, ability to perform-end-to-end architecture analyses and simulation of operational tasking and resource utilization Experience with Modeling & Simulation frameworks and commercially available modeling and simulation capabilities Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain a TS SSBI clearance or equivalent Ability to solve difficult problems by applying scientific principles, theories and concepts Strong analytical abilities, ability to plan, control and direct activities and resources – including personnel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen well and communicate effectively with others. Keen attention to detail. Ability to explain technical material to others Ability to build and maintain effective relationships based on mutual respect with peers, customers and team members. Demonstrated people-management skills, and experience leading geographically dispersed teams; ability to coach, motivate and empower others. Ability to develop and execute project plans within budget and schedule constraints, ability to simultaneously manage multiple programs and priorities. Excellent risk management methodologies and problem resolution techniques. Strong critical thinking skills, ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complexity and ambiguity. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project). Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplined engineering efforts. Desired Skills: Record of innovation, including peer-reviewed technical publications, whitepapers and patents Extensive Systems Engineering experience with Battle Management Command & Control (BMC2) systems Multi-domain (Space, Air, Ground, Sub-surface, Cyber) Modeling & Simulation experience Experience with Modeling & Simulation frameworks and capabilities in the DoD customer domain.
