JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of pipeline, compressors and related field operations. The facilities consist of two compressor stations near Denver, CO. Perform operation and maintenance tasks on pipeline and pipeline related equipment, reciprocating engine/compressor units and associated ancillary equipment. Ancillary equipment includes, motors, generators, cooling equipment, pumps, valves, seals, and associated pipeline facilities. •Install, repair, service and maintain valves, pipe, and pipeline appurtenances •Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment, including pipeline right-of-way. •Conduct pipeline pigging activities. •Start, stop and operate engines to maintain designated operating parameters. •Ensure the cost effective and efficient performance of all engines and associated equipment. •Maintain, adjust, make minor repairs, and operate equipment (e.g., wheeled tractors, pick-up trucks, water pumps, air compressors, coolers). •Perform one-call locates and pipeline damage prevention activities. •Perform governmental compliance activities, such as line patrol, road and railroad crossing inspections, and valve inspections. •Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping. •Represent the Company during contacts with landowner/tenants, public officials/emergency officials and at local meetings. (One Call, Pipeline Groups, Soil Conservation, etc.) •Assist with the creation, planning, forecasting and managing of the districts Capital and O&M budgets. •Assist with cash flow management, cost monitoring and control. •Participate in the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plans. •Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory, and Company tariff requirements. •Assist personnel in performing technical and non-technical tasks including gas quality determinations, gas sampling, and measurement checks. •Provide oral and written communication of activities to appropriate personnel. •Must live within a 45 minute response/travel time to work location •Will require some out of town, nights and weekends shifts as needed. •Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School degree or equivalent JOB REQUIREMENTS: •Achieve and maintain all OQ qualifications and progression requirements applicable to the job classification. •Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with a minimum of supervision. •Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, and other company software). •Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals). •Ability to work in a team environment, take direction from supervisors, keep required job schedules, focus on details, and follow work rules. •Strong verbal and written communication skills. •Ability to effectively work with customers, suppliers, other operations groups, engineering staff, and management. •Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives. •Mentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents itself. •Required to perform on-call, call out duties and fill in various rotating shifts to maintain system integrity, acceptable facility run time and emergency response after regular business hours which may require carrying a communication device. •Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers. •Overtime and some shift work may be required and is anticipated. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•Physical ability to lift as much as 50lbs, bend/stoop, kneel and climb stairs/ladders.
•Ability to use hand tools and equipment, repetitive hand use such as simple grasp and twisting motion included.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: •Detailed knowledge of compressor and transmission pipeline systems operations. •Knowledge of operating costs and best practices associated with natural gas pipeline equipment. •Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams. •Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases and liquids on high pressure systems. •Knowledge of company policies, procedures and practices, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
