POSITION SUMMARY: A leading company in the physician services sector is seeking a Business Development Analyst (“Analyst”) to serve on the core team driving M&A, non-organic growth and other strategic initiatives. The Business Development (BD) team has executed 20+ acquisitions totaling over $1 billion in revenue for the company in the last 5 years. The Analyst will work with the Chief Development Officer and other executives across the company to source, execute and integrate mergers, acquisitions, and other partnership and joint venture opportunities. A role on this company’s BD team is an opportunity to gain significant transaction experience, working with highly seasoned M&A professionals at a company backed by blue chip private equity funds.
The right candidate for the Analyst position is an analytical, strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Analyst position requires excellent project management, due diligence, financial analysis, complex financial modeling, and legal documentation skills.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and other members of the BD team, the Analyst is responsible for supporting the following key objectives of the BD team:
Developing the company's M&A growth strategy
Evaluating geographical markets and the relative position and competitive dynamics of practices, health systems, and payers within those markets
Sourcing new potential transactions, including managing pipeline of opportunities and developing relationships with potential transaction partners
Executing transactions, including development of structured processes and detailed timelines that can be reported to various stakeholders
Overseeing due diligence process, including managing internal and external resources and identification of key business and legal issues
Developing and reviewing detailed financial analysis and complex valuation models with respect to both financial statements as well as operating metrics generated from practice billing data
Developing and drafting summary materials for presentation to various constituencies, include the board of directors, executive leadership team, and potential transaction partners
Coordinating with internal finance and operations teams as part of transaction execution and post transaction integration process
JOB REQUIREMENTS(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Financial modeling, data analytics, and project management skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook developed in prior professional setting; MS Access experience not required but preferred
Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Highest level of professionalism, ethics, integrity, mutual respect, and collaborative approach
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills; keen attention to detail
Bright and articulate with excellent communication and presentation skills and able to adapt to various internal and external constituencies

1 - 3 years relevant professional experience (comparable industries include investment banking, strategy consulting, business/corporate development, private equity)
Bachelor’s degree required; major in business, finance, or economics preferred
Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred, particularly with physician services organizations
Experience with respect to M&A transactions, financial/quantitative analysis and complex financial modeling, due diligence and legal documentation
Experience interacting with outside advisers, including investment bankers, strategy consultants, accountants, lawyers, and tax advisers
