Charles Schwab Investor Online Services is responsible for the web, mobile and messaging platforms that serve Schwab Retail Clients. The Platform and Product Management organization defines the experience and oversees the management of Schwab’s electronic channels (Schwab.com and mobile apps), and internal platforms used by Schwab service representatives and financial consultants.
Our purpose is to provide tools and experiences that enable clients to achieve their financial objectives, while supporting the strategic growth of the firm.
The team is responsible for:
Strategy - Envision the future and build the near-term roadmap for our web and mobile strategies
Execution - On all aspects of technology product development including the definition, creation, development and implementation of the core solutions
Client service – Serve clients in our digital advice products with compelling experiences and strong portfolio management
Partnership - Support client-facing employees in delivering for our clients (specifically web and mobile strategies)
Offer Management is a team of Technical Product Owners and Business Systems Analysts that manage the Offer Order platform and internal products we call “offers”. Offers allow Schwab to segment data by business and product line to assemble intended digital experiences for each Schwab client. The platform is highly integrated with front and back end systems throughout the firm to facilitate the delivery of consistent cross channel experience.
As a Senior Technical Product Owner/Business Systems Analyst you will prioritize and define project requirements, become an SME on the platform, and liaison with internal business and technical stakeholders to bring world class client experiences to life.
What you’ll do:
You will build products and experiences which enhance Schwab’s digital platforms, and help to develop new ideas based on market analytics and interactions with business stakeholders, customers and prospects.
You will develop user stories and determine acceptance criteria that fulfill the needs of our business partners and our clients.
You will fulfill the product owner role for a dedicated scrum team in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, and product demonstrations.
You will work with technical and business counterparts to define product release requirements and investigate production issues as they arise.
You will become a subject matter expert on the Offer Order domain and bring stakeholder’s digital products to life by acting as an internal consultant from the ideation stage through deployment.
You will learn and understand Schwab’s business and product lines that you are assigned as well as understand how the technical domains interact behind the scenes to fulfill on those products and services.
You will perform data and systems analysis to research issues and discover information to support decision making.
What you have:
Strong business systems analysis skills. The ability to join a project team and quickly understand the business goal and bigger picture using requirements discovery techniques and process mapping. The ability to grasp how our platform fits into the strategy of the firm and can distill project level business requirements down to the domain level.
Superior communication skills – written, verbal, and pictorial (diagrams!). Confident communicating with business and technical partners at all levels during every stage of the software development lifecycle. Awareness of different partners and tailors communication depending on the audience.
Strong technical product management skills and experience.
Effective relationship builder with strong initiative. The propensity to create an internal network and find information. Partners well cross-functionally and works effectively with various personality types. Effective team member and contributor.
Strong research and data analysis skills. The ability to perform ad-hoc data analysis by writing SQL and running queries. Can support researching production issues and pull data to support informed decisions.
Thrives in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment. A positive attitude and solid work ethic.
The ability to track and manage multiple projects at once.
The ability to rank and prioritize competing work efforts.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methods and processes.
Experience with Visio, JIRA, Behavioral Driven Development (BDD), Confluence, HipChat, Tableau, and Splunk is a plus.
